Volkswagen car hires in Barcelona

Firefly didn't have the minivan we'd booked for our trip! Neither did they have the 2nd minivan my brother had booked. We ended up squeezed into cars instead. Also they charge you insurance at the desk which makes the total price the same as more reputable hire companies. I will avoid in future.

A cost of $350 turned in to over $1000 with all the fees and insurance added. The cost on Kayak is not representative at all of what you will pay. And all these charges hit you when you go to get your car, so you have no option but to pay the fees if you need a car

The address then give you to pick up the car doesn’t exist. Google maps shows you the agency but there is nothing there. It takes forever to get ahold of customer service and they just tell you to go to another company. Will never use again after wasting more than an hour driving in circles delaying my trip.

Terrible company to rent from. My little trip only cost me £15 for the renting of the car. They have a shuttle bus that picks you up from the airport and take you to the office up the road. They asked me to pay an additional £1248 for deposit, excess and fuel. Up front they take that out your bank account instantly not put it on hold. I had paid the deposit and fuel costs £248 and then had to pay the £1200 excess. I told them to just leave it and not bother. Got the refund but was about £10/£15 less than what I paid

Quick, easy, cost effective

A Disingenuous company who didn't mark up all the damage to the tired car they gave us, refused to update the damage report, refused to look at the car on return and then charged us 450 euros for damage we didn't do. We used them because they were cheap. If you use them make sure you check the car and get their agreement prior to driving away, but if I were you I would use a more reputable company. we will never use them again.

Long que waited over 45 mins for pick up. Vehicle had so much damage - and not cleaned.

Pick up process is incredibly complicated. They make you wait in queue to go up to the counter where they confirm your information only to be told to go fill in your document information at a kiosk. You then have to wait again to back to the same counter once you’ve filled all the information in. I did not like how this agency takes a fuel deposit, this was not mentioned anywhere prior to hiring the car.

Easy pick up and return, car was brand new, had less than 2K on it, great service

You have to add on your site clearly that passports required for the pick up. We didn't had our passports with us, we had only driving licence. Attitude at reception was poor. With two small kids, We had to travel back to our hotel (spend another 50€ on taxes) to get the passport. Bad experience. Never again!

Scam car company. Told them to cancel my reservation and refund and they refused.

Staff is helpful, but the pricing is a bit high now.

I would’ve liked a little bit more flexibility on the pick up time (plus or minus an hour from target time)

They close the location for 3 hours between 1pm-4pm and don’t notify you in regards to this nonsense. I canceled and booked at Sixt instead.

It was really good! Pricey because I had chosen a hybrid for a long trip. But it was worth it!

Here's my mailing just from now with VIP cars, you can understand how was it: When trying to call Enterprise from the airport and from the train (never answers on the site) I clearly mentioned I will arrive few minutes after 13:00pm. Never told you 1.5h, don't know where this came from. 1. They moved to bizarre place arround the atation, into hotel, on a roof, around the roof, walking on the road with no pavement or how to roll the suitcases. For sure mature people would find it very difficult to arrive there and handle this difficult way, not to mention handicapped people, so many stairs with suitcases. 2. No one mentioned any directions to this bizarre place. No sign where to turn or any guidance. It felt like ESCAPE ROOM. Find Enterprise car rental. This alone cost us 20 minutes, and also because we were sharp and physically in shape! 3. I repeat myself again, why they never answered to me? To you? To mails? No phone call was answered, why? Why haven't they called us??? 4. Give me a break! Completing the papers, takes more than 15 minutes, no one was there completing any papers with anyone and handing them our car. CAR WAS NEVER THERE AT FIRST PLACE. 5. Many people came after us, and most of them if not all, had arguing with the representatives since no car was handed to them either. A Spanish couple stood there on the sun getting mad by rhetoric answers and going with no car. The site has problem with cars not related specifically to our case. 6. I would be more tolerant if anyone there would have been more helpful, with real intentions, or admitting at least they never had the car, or trying to upgrade with some extra money - anything, it would felt better. The representatives, to my opinion, was already fed by so many customers complaints from the last week of the holidays, and could barely handle more issues, like when we arrive, hence answers become rhetoric and automatic with zero understanding or trying to help. Then I called from the site to you, 30 minutes with a lady, she tried to help, she was smart and tried seeking a solution. However, you're not the car rental on the site, what can you do if they don't cooperate with you, and you have no influence! Then, she clearly said she will refund me. Listen to the phone conversation. I am saying again, we already had hotels booked and lost time, needed to take extra night in Barcelona, we didn't expect to stay, it was highly expensive due to last minute on holidays, plus taxis back and forth. Plus wasting full day on searching for another car. This all will be issued as a law procedure by my family lawyer. For sure Enterprise service would be known to anyone I know. So, don't tell me about 2 info's, since I know exactly what hell of a day was that, and it's implications.
