Thailand has some wonderful cities to visit, including the most visited city in the world, Bangkok. Public transport in Thailand reflects the city well, in that even the simplest plan can change in an instant. Generally, we advise you to avoid the buses and taxis as they are prone to getting caught in traffic jams, instead taking the sky train or the metro. The Millennium Hilton Bangkok is a good choice out of all the hotels in Thailand. Another city that we recommend you visit is Chiang Mai, all the way up in the north of the country. There is no public transport in Chiang Mai, and so we recommend that you take the songthaew if you need to travel around the city. Generally, tourists are safe to walk around the cities in Thailand, but we recommend that you walk with friends if possible or take a tuk-tuk and split the bill.
Thailand is well-known for being a paradise destination, and the beaches at Railay do not disappoint. One of the most popular attractions in the country, the beach also offers opportunities to go climbing, canoeing and scuba diving, should it take your fancy. You can find plenty of cheap hotels in Thailand, and in the Krabi area, but we recommend the Avatar Railay – Adult-Only Hotel. Koh Phi Phi is one of the most famous islands in the world and there are some incredible places to visit, including Monkey Beach, Long Beach and the Maya Bay where the movie was filmed. Chongkhao Resort is a fantastic option if you are interested in staying on Koh Phi Phi Island.
If you are looking to party, then Thailand has what you want. Thailand hotels such as the Rambuttri Village Inn & Plaza are situated beside Khaosan Road, one of Bangkok’s busiest nightlife zones. The Red Planet Pattaya is on Walking Street in Pattaya, where you can find a huge variety of go-go bars, clubs and massage salons. The Tony Resort in Phuket is beside the Bangla Road in Patong, near Patong Beach, where you can find all the bars, clubs, and restaurants that made Thailand so famous for partying.
In the north of the country, Chiang Rai offers a stunning Buddhist temple, known in English as the White Temple and as Wat Rong Khun in Thai. It is well worth a visit, and it is not too expensive. We recommend staying in the I Am Chiang Rai Hotel to see the best of what Chiang Rai has to offer. The Lancaster Bangkok Hotel offers great access to The Grand Palace in Bangkok, which is another unmissable piece of history in Thailand. It has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. There is a strict dress code for covering your knees, and tickets are more expensive here compared to other famous landmarks in Thailand.
