My experience with Turkish Airlines, which was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. My Saudi Airlines flight was delayed by approximately two hours, causing me to miss my connecting flight. When I approached Turkish Airlines staff for assistance, I was refused a boarding pass and was told that I needed to pay USD 500 to purchase a new ticket, despite the missed connection being entirely due to the airline’s delay. I was then instructed to find a Saudi Airlines agent, yet no one could provide clear directions. I wandered through the airport for over an hour and a half trying to locate assistance. When I finally reached Saudi Airlines, their agents attempted to contact Turkish Airlines but were unable to reach anyone for more than five hours. During this time, I was left waiting, exhausted, and without any guidance or support. After those five hours, I was informed that my next available flight would be 24 hours later, yet I was not immediately provided with a confirmed booking. I repeatedly asked for a hotel accommodation and, when one was finally offered, I was required to share a hotel room with a stranger and her child, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Throughout this entire experience, multiple staff members were rude, unhelpful, and demonstrated a severe lack of communication and professionalism. I did not receive proper assistance until I explicitly requested to speak with a manager, after which my flight was finally booked. My boarding pass was issued the following morning at 6:00 a.m. Despite a 24-hour involuntary layover caused by Turkish Airlines, I was denied meal vouchers for breakfast and lunch when I requested them. This experience reflects a complete failure in customer service, passenger care, and accountability. Due to this treatment, I will never travel with Turkish Airlines again, nor will I choose any itinerary that includes a layover operated by Turkish Airlines.
